Hi everyone and welcome to my very first blog post! It's really aimed at those of you that don't know me to tell you a little bit about my background and why I love doing what I do.
I have been body therapist for over twenty years and a teacher of massage and complementary therapies for over 18 years, working in both the private and public sector. I gained my Masters in osteopathy from the London School of Osteopathy and am a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (how many times can I say osteopathy in one sentence??)
I am a mum of two who loves to spend my free time with my family, baking (although, I don’t think I will be on bake off any time soon and yes the pre mix packets count!) and thinking about work. Yes I know that sounds pretty sad, but when you love what you do, it never feels like work. Osteopathy is also my hobby!
So why osteopathy?
I know you are all dying to find out why I chose to spend five years travelling from Totton to London every other weekend, whilst working full time and looking after my family. I don't tell you this because I want you to think I'm super woman! I tell you this because I want you to know that I understand. I understand that when you get home from work you don't always want to go to they gym or spend an hour cycling but going nowhere, I understand that sometimes that sausage roll just has your name on it. I also understand about passion for what you love. The passion that drives some of the athletes and sportspeople I treat to get up at 5 and train before work or school, or spend all their money on paying to get to competitions all around the world, just so they qualify to be selected to represent their country.
I want you to know that I treat real people, with real lives and that I will never judge you. I won't judge you for not exercising, I won't judge you for exercising a little too much, but what I will do is listen to you and work with you towards whatever goal you want to achieve.
So that's it! Thats what drives me. Helping everyone I treat towards their goals, from staying at the top of their game to reach the olympics or world championship, or just to be able to walk with no pain, that's what drives me. Your goals are my goals, contact me now for more information.
